HIM-106 Inpatient Procedural Coding
A comprehensive study of ICD-10-PCS (International Classification of Diseases, Version 10, Procedure Coding System). This course covers procedure coding for inpatient settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, skilled care facilities, alcohol and substance abuse treatment centers including medicine, surgery, obstetrics, placement, administration, and other procedures affecting the human body. Utilizing the ICD-10-PCS codebook and coding software, course will cover coding procedures in all the body systems, including substance abuse and mental health. Students are introduced to coding scenarios and job settings in the coding, health information and reimbursement professions.
