HIM-105 Diagnostic Coding
A comprehensive study of ICD-10-CM (International Classification of Diseases, Version 10, Clinical Modification). This course covers diagnostic coding for both inpatient and outpatient medical records, including signs, symptoms, conditions and diseases affecting the human body. Utilizing the ICD-10-CM codebook and coding software, course will cover how to code diagnoses based on etiology (such as cancer and infectious disease) and body system (such as musculoskeletal or respiratory). Students are introduced to soft skills and develop strategies for maximizing these skills in job interviews and the medical coding profession.
