The literature, tradition and culture of Ireland is presented through writings, films, and multi-media. Major figures include Yeats, Doyle, Murphy, Kavanagh, Joyce, McCourt, O'Connor and Wilde.” New course description: “An exploration of Irish folklore, poetry, drama, and literary prose. Through primary texts, this course examines the ways in which Irish literature is politically, historically, and culturally constructed, and covers themes such as colonialism, religion, folklore, and landscape.
