ENG-297Z Special Topics in Literature: Contemporary Fiction of North and South America
An examination of selected novels and short stories written after 1960 by North and South American writers. North American writers to be studied may include David Guterson, Michael Ondaatje, Margaret Atwood, T. Coraghessan Boyle, Wallace Stegner, Jane Smiley, E. Annie Proulx, John Updike, and others; South American writers may include Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Luis Sepulveda, Mario Vargas Llosa, Isabel Allende, and others. Prerequisite: Six credits of composition or permission of the instructor.
