ENG-297A Special Topics in Literature: the Making of a Region: Southern Literature and Culture
An interdisciplinary examination of late nineteenth and twentieth-century southern texts within the cultural context of southern regionalism. Emphasis is on the interaction between literature and the social configurations of slavery, traditionalism, agrarianism and the civil rights movement. Prerequisite: Six credits of composition or permission of the instructor.
