ENG-228 US Poetry Since 1945

A course designed to acquaint students with poems written by United States poets since 1945. Students will study the works of representative poets from various movements, notably the Beats; the New York School; confessional poetry; poets of color; and women poets.” New Course description: “An examination of American poetry published after 1945. The course will explore the social, political, cultural, and historical significance of individual poets, poetic movements, and the literary genre of poetry itself, and will concurrently investigate poetic craft and its continued evolution.
