HIM-132 Reimbursement Methodologies
A comprehensive overview of billing for facility services using ICD-10-CM (International Classification of Diseases, 9th Revision, Clinical Modification), CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) and HCPCS (Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System)codes to complete UB-04(uniform institutional provider hardcopy)claim forms. The course will familiarize the student with health records and how documentation translates to the basics of medical coding, billing, insurance and proper reimbursement. The course also discusses the various reimbursement methodologies affecting facilities and provides an introduction to coding classification systems and the payer and healthcare system in the U.S.
