AHS-117 Surgical Technology I
A continuation course from Introduction to Surgical Technology. This course introduces techniques necessary during the surgical experience. This course further integrates expected skills, professional communication, and the establishment of the sterile field with the armamentarium of instruments, supplies and sutures. The laboratory component allows the student to observe and return demonstrate the principles and procedures taught in the classroom in a non-patient contact environment. There will be three 8-hour days of observation in the operating room in local area facilities. Requires matriculation in Surgical Technology program.
