ENG-297A Special Topics in Literature: the Making of a Region: Southern Literature & Culture

An interdisciplinary examination of late nineteenth and twentieth-century southern texts within the cultural context of southern regionalism. Emphasis is on the interaction between literature and the social configurations of slavery, traditionalism, agrarianism and the civil rights movement.
