Advanced Placement Policy
Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) are eligible for advanced placement into NUR 201, in lieu of taking NUR 101 and NUR 102, by one of the following actions:
- An LPN graduate from an approved practical nursing program within one year of graduation and obtaining licensure by NCLEX-PN exam within one year of entering the program.
- An LPN graduate from an approved practical nursing program more than a year past graduation, obtained licensure by NCLEX-PN exam, and achieving a score of 850, or above, on the HESI LPN-ADN Entrance Exam within one year of entering the program.
Students in both groups are required to successfully complete NUR 106 and follow all other requirements per the program’s Educational Mobility policy in order to be accepted into NUR 201, on a space available basis.
